Everything I cooked, prepared and presented well. Food is plentiful and very good. Staff is really on the ball.
Great food & although there was a short wait - it was well worth the time! Service was perfect - place was clean & it was fun to shop at the gift place next door!
Every good town needs a trustworthy cafe for a weekend brunch and Jensen's is Burnsville's tried and true! Small parking lot outside, but we've been lucky to always find a spot when we've gone! Big dining room but fills up quickly on the weekends. Get there early or expect a small wait. We were lucky enough to snag a bar area high top on our latest trip! Service is alright...they are frequently very busy so servers can be overwhelmed, but it hasn't negatively impacted our experience. The food is lovely!! Traditional brunch foods with a bit of class... definitely not greasy, diner breakfast! I've usually stuck with the Biscuits and Gravy, which are yummy! Do yourself a favor and always upgrade to the cheesy hash browns...you won't be upset ;)
If you want a home cooked meal but don't feel like cooking then visit Jensen's Café. This restaurant is very charming, makes delicious food, and has great service. I was assisted by Grace, they provided perfect afternoon service, kept the water glasses filled and was helpful with recommendations. I arrived around 1:15pm and the place was busy but thankfully there was no wait and I sat in a booth. I had the garden scramble, with harvest toast, and cheesy hashbrowns $13.95. I also heard they make a yummy cinnamon roll and I have a sweet tooth so there was no way I wasn't ordering this as a starter. Coming from Atlanta I wasn't surprised by the $8.95 price and thought it sounded about right. Let me tell you, when Grace arrived with my caramel roll, I said, I only ordered one, she said I know, this is it. It was a mini loaf, I couldn't' believe my eyes. It was large enough to feed a family of 5! It was so delicious, soft and full of cinnamon and the perfect amount of sweetness. I want to have one delivered to my home in GA. If you are ever in the Minneapolis area or close to Bloomington drive to Burnsville and visit this casual café. The food was Amazing and affordable, this is very rare these days. Seriously everything I ordered was perfect!
Roast beef and burgers were great. Fries were served fresh. They use real potatoes. Check out the menu attached. They have variety of options. You can order at the counter, take your number and bring it to your seat. There is ample parking so no need to worry about parking your car.
5/5 Awesome greeter. Made me feel welcome and host took me to the back of the restaurant to my table. I ordered caramel roll for starters. It was HUGE! But very delicious. It wasn't dry the caramel made the cinnamon roll very delicious. For my main course had three bacon, scrambled eggs and wheat toast with the side of breakfast potatoes. The bacon was thick and crispy. Thanks to the waiter who was able to move me to the window seat. When I asked him. Amazing customer service. Ambiance was nice and clean and just felt like home.
Treated myself to lunch today at Jensen's Cafe. I'm glad this place is within walking distance to my apartment because I've found my new favorite neighborhood breakfast/ lunch spot! The service was fantastic. I was seated right away. The server was very friendly and attentive to not just me, but the customers around me as well. The food came out quickly and was delicious! I got the kitchen sink omelet and cheesy hash browns. If you get any of the breakfast items, definitely opt for the cheesy hash browns as a side because they were SO good!
Breakfast was fantastic, started with bloody Mary's since we got seated in the bar area. Our server Jonathon was very nice. Fresh fruits , oatmeal and lemon ricotta cakes to share, the partner she got the garden omelet and added chorizo sausage. She ate all of it. Oh so good
We had a wonderful outdoor patio experience at Jensen's today! The staff are always friendly and patient despite our indecisiveness and many questions. We sat outside and although there was a moment of firetrucks and police sirens, the rest of lunch was very nice and relaxing. We decided on Biscuits and Gravy with Cheesy Hashbrowns, Kitchen Sink Scramble with Cheesy Hashbrowns and the Monte Cristo with Cafe Potatoes. I can only speak on the Monte Cristo because that's what I got, but from what I was told the Cheesy Hashbrowns are ridiculously good and both the scramble and biscuits n gravy were delicious! But that Monte tho!!! It's a must try, especially if you can't decide on something savory or something sweet. This dish offers both as it has a french toast like bread dusted with powdered sugar and paired with a berry dipping sauce. And then on the savory side, you've got a triple decker of ham, turkey and so much melty cheese. I got Cafe Potatoes with it and was surprised, I don't usually care for potatoes but the flavor of these made it hard to stop eating them... very addicting. I've only ever had the breakfast food here but I'd love to come back and try out their lunch/dinner menu. I also can vouch for their bloody mary and bloody maria, if you're a fan of bloodies check those out!!!
I've never seen so many shades of brown in my life. Brown tables, brown walls, brown wood, brown-hued furniture, brown (and brownish yellow) plates, brown carpet, brown stone, brown tiles, and brown food. The aestheic was firmly late '90s Best Western breakfast area. Or maybe the dining room in grandma's assisted living facility. But, surprisingly, it was pretty good. We've been twice for brunch. The Fiesta Omelet contains more shades of brown than should exist on any plate, but with the optional chorizo it was tasty and pleasantly spicy. The garden scramble was good but a bit watery as veggies and eggs can often be. The Chipotle Benedict sounded weird but was pretty good, although the English muffin wasn't toasted. Thoughts were mixed on the cheesy has browns--it would've been nice to have just crisp hash browns without the cheese. Everyone loved the cafe potatoes. Service was pretty slow on our first visit, speedy on the second. We won't seek Jensen's out, but if we're in the neighborhood we'll probably be back. Three and a half stars, rounding up.
